Plastic canvas

What you need

10-count plastic canvas; yarn; blunt tapestry needle (size 16 for 7-count, size 18 for 10-count); scissors. Overcast with nearest DMC 807 yarn.

How to begin

1. Work the coloured and white fill squares.
2. Use tent stitches in one consistent direction.
3. Cut outside the marked edge, leaving intact bars.
4. Overcast every exposed edge; secure the tails.

Finished grid: 76 x 76 squares incl. overcast edge. Chart: 78 x 78, including the cut margin. Yarn colours are given as DMC numbers; pick the closest plastic-canvas yarn shade. Over 42 squares the 7-count piece would be larger than an ornament, so 10-count is recommended. Yarn estimates include 10% plus ends and overcasting all 464 edge bars.
